PUERTO VALLARTA Gay Bars & Clubs 2020
The Gay bars and clubs of Puerto Vallarta are all located within the Zona Romantico. Most of the bars are concentrated within 3 neighbourhoods, Olas Altas, Lazaro Gardens and the Rio Cuale.
Olas Altas is just 1 block from the gay beaches of Los Muertos. People arrive at the gay beaches from 11am and head to the hotel happy hours after 5pm. Start at Garbo on Calle Pulpito, a lively Piano bar with great music and a nice mix of locals and tourists. Nearby, Blondies, a two story recent addition to the gay bar scene is close to the gay massage parlours. The smoothie bar downstairs is great for a post-beach cocktail while upstairs has a more relaxed lounge-vibe. Just around the corner you will find, Sama Lounge, our favourite place for pre-dinner drinks. The bar is a mix of kitsch and classy decor with friendly waiters and is great for people watching from the terrace.
Anonimo which has a famous happy hour from 4pm to 7pm, hosts very popular Karaoke nights and has very friendly bar staff.
Further down from Olas Altas you will find the main gay neighbourhood, on Lazaro Cardenas. This strip is home to some of the busiest and best known bars in Puerto Vallarta.
At the crossroads of Highway 200 and Cardenas you will find the 4 busiest clubs in town. CC Slaughters is where the boys like to go to dance once the bars close. On the opposite corner you will find Paco’s Ranch, the successor to the infamous Club Paco. Paco’s is a mix of tourists and locals thanks to its cheap drink prices, camp shows, and large dance floor.
Further along you will find Margaritas, a stylish bar with a more “circuit-feel.” Next-door, Puerto Vallarta’s flagship gay bar, La Noche, gets busy from 11pm onwards. The bar is laid out over 3 floors and hosts some of the best entertainment on the strip. Sexy Go Go Boys perform nightly with special shows at weekends.
If you haven’t hooked up with a hot tourist or sexy local then it might be worth paying a visit to the Spartacus Spa. This 4 story gay spa and sauna is clean and modern with private rooms, a cruising area, large rooftop terrace, and pool. It is at its busiest from 4pm to 8pm, post beach and pre dinner!
Finally, no visit to Lazaro Cardenas would be complete without a trip to Wet Dreams. The bar describes itself as a “gentlemen’s club.” The dancers are hot and the behaviour is anything but gentlemanly! Still it’s great fun and well worth a visit, but not for the shy!
A two minute walk further north of the River Cuale will bring you to Antropology, a gay male stripper bar with more than 20+ strippers performing nightly shows from 9pm to 4am.
